Meet & Learn
Turtles come to you!
For a nominal fee, your library, school, classroom, homeschool group, summer camp, fair/festival, Earth Day celebration, or birthday party can have turtles come for a visit.
Adults and children alike will learn things like:
What is a turtle, exactly?
Do turtles make good pets?
What do you need to take care of a pet turtle responsibly?
What are the differences between wild turtles and pet turtles?
What should you do if you encounter a turtle crossing a road or in your yard?
Make a Turtle Crossing sign!
For small groups (up to 12 participants, ages 8 & up), I can bring all the materials and stencils ready to paint directly to you. Great for scout groups, after-school clubs, libraries, camps, etc. Due to all the prep-work on my part, this program is going to be more expensive than a regular turtle presentation. For an additional fee, I can bring live turtles for the group to meet and learn about while waiting for paint to dry between doing the front and back of the signs. I will require at least one other adult to be present and actively helping to supervise young participants, and welcome any parents/guardians who wish to stay and supervise, so long as the children are the ones doing the project. This is a messy project, so make sure the participants dress accordingly.
