About

Hi, my name is Angelina and I am a licensed wildlife rehabilitator of our native turtles in Connecticut. On this website I will share information about how you can help turtles in trouble. I’ve been a turtle owner for well over a decade, but there is a big difference between owning pet turtles who are generally healthy and taking care of sick or injured turtles for the purpose of helping their wild populations, many of which are in decline. Learning never stops, and this is where I’ll share new and interesting turtle tales.
If you found an injured turtle, safely contain it (clean, dry box; no food/water; only a clean paper towel or towel on the bottom of the box; cover the top with a pillowcase to keep flies out; take it with you; keep it cool/dark/quiet) and text a picture of it plus the location where you found it to (401) 316-2094 then call. For the love of God please don’t leave it there to die (because it definitely will), and don’t email or message me through the contact page or social media for anything time-sensitive like an injured turtle. Anything besides an injured turtle can be done through the contact page.
WE DO NOT TAKE RED-EARED SLIDERS OR OTHER NON-NATIVE PET TURTLES! We will not respond to any inquiries about surrendering non-native pets, so don’t bother wasting both of our times. See the adoptions and pets page for other options for pet surrender.
